AC/310 SUB-GROUP 1 ON EXPLOSIVES

A variety of energetic materials are used in munitions. The role of Sub Group 1 is to specify the ingredients and characteristics of explosives authorized for use by NATO nations and to devise tests to establish the physical and mechanical characteristics of explosives and their suitability for use over the life cycle of a munition.

The full Terms of Reference are at Annex E-2 of the Handbook on the Aim, Organization and Working Practices of the Group

Promulgated documents produced by the Group: (Standardization Agreements (STANAGs) state NATO policy related to the Terms of Reference of the Group, and Allied Ordnance Publications (AOPs) amplify and provide guidance on that policy.)
