Summit meeting in Moscow of the Communist leaders of 81 countries. Approval of Khrushchevs concept of peaceful coexistence.

Convention for the Establishment of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in place of the OEEC signed by 18 European countries and the United States and Canada. Australia, New Zealand and Japan subsequently join the Organisation.
