Alliance transformation in Budapest
NATO Defence Ministers discussed in Budapest issues related to the Alliance’s ongoing transformation and to the range of key enablers needed for multinational operations.
In particular, they reviewed efforts regarding capabilities such as strategic airlift, helicopters and Alliance ground surveillance, as well as the logistics needed for the performance of a full spectrum of missions. Ministers also discussed efforts on how to improve the deployability and sustainability of land forces.
Finally, Ministers had an exchange of views on how to further develop the NATO Response Force (NRF) in the context of the Alliance's growing operational commitments.
