Statement by the Secretary General on the election of President Bush I congratulate President Bush on his victory in the elections. I have no doubt that President Bush will maintain the United States’ long tradition of strong engagement in NATO – the essential bridge between North America and Europe. I look forward to working with him to further strengthen that engagement, so that the Atlantic Alliance can continue to defend our shared values and project stability against 21st century threats and challenges.
