Appointment of Lieutenant General Michael L. Dodson, U.S. Army, to succeed Lt. Gen. Ronald E. Adams as Commander SFOR Lieutenant General Michael L. Dodson, U.S. Army, will assume the responsibility to serve as next commander of SFOR, the NATO stabilization force in Bosnia and Herzegovina. General Dodson's nomination was approved by NATO's Military Committee on Friday 28 July, 2000, following the recommendation of the Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Joseph W. Ralston, in his capacity as the commander of Strategic Command Europe. General Michael L. Dodson will take command of SFOR, assuming responsibility from Lieutenant General Ronald E. Adams. Lt. Gen. Ronald E. Adams arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina in September 1999 and assumed command of SFOR on 18 October. Upon relinquishing command from |SFOR, Gen. Adams will return to his duties as Deputy Commander, Joint Headquarters Centre, Allied Command Europe, and Commander, U.S. Army Elements, NATO, positions he held prior to becoming Commander of SFOR. |
