Chapter 6: Logistic Support for Partnership for Peace (PfP)
Ongoing Specific Consumer Logistic Activities
606. NATO Logistics Course for Partners
(NLCP). The NLCP are held in parallel with the NATO Logistics Course (NLC).
607. Other Courses. Courses are offered by NATO and by Partner nations in the disciplines of NATO logistics, UN and NATO Peacekeeping, Civil/Military Cooperation (CIMIC), and Civil Emergency Planning (CEP). Course content and frequency are tailored to demand, and written back-up material in languages other than English is being made available.
608. Exercise Cooperative Support
(COSUP). This multi-national maritime exercise organized by SACLANT is
held annually and is designed to introduce Partner nations to
the Alliance's concept for the logistic support of
multinational maritime operations.
609. NATO Maintenance Supply Agency (NAMSA)
Technical Support to PfP Countries. The Council has approved a
NATO Maintenance and Supply Organization (NAMSO) Board
of Directors request that NAMSA be authorized, on a
reimbursable basis, to render technical assistance to PfP countries.
Initially, this assistance will be generally consultative in nature, but
in the longer term will involve actual logistics management
and operations.
610. National Bilateral Logistic Activities with
Partnership Nations. There are extensive bilateral logistic contacts
between individual NATO and Partnership nations. A Report on
Bilateral Logistics Activities, based on contributions from the
nations, MNCs and NAMSA, is compiled by the SNLC Secretariat as
part of an annual SNLC Report on PfP Implementation.
