General Musa Avsever

General Musa Avsever was born in Konya on 07 November 1957. He graduated from Military Academy as a signal officer in 1978. After completing signal officer basic course, he served as platoon and company commander in the 7th Corps between the years of 1979-1982, in the 8th Corps between the years of 1982-1986 and at the School and Training Centre of Communications, Electronics and Information systems between the years of 1986-1988.

After graduating from Army War College in 1990, he served as Chief of Branch in the 2nd Infantry Division between the years of 1990-1992, as plan officer of logistics division in 2nd Army HQ between the years of 1992-1996, as Commander of the Cadet Battalion and Chief of Operations and training branch in the Military Academy between the years of 1996-1999, as Chief of Operations and training branch in Cyprus Turkish Peace Forces between the years of 1999-2001. He served as the commander of 5th Border Regiment between the years of 2001-2003.

Promoted to the rank of Brigadier General by the Supreme Military Council assignments in 2003, General Musa Avsever served as the head of Land Forces Supply and Maintenance Department between the years of 2003-2005, as Support Commander of Communications, Electronics and Information Systems at the General Staff HQ between the years of 2005-2007.

Promoted to the rank of Major General by the Supreme Military Council assignments in 2007, Avsever served as the head of Communications, Electronics and Information Systems Division at the Land Forces command between the years of 2007-2009, as the commander of Land Forces School and Training Centre of Communications, Electronics and Information Systems between the years of 2009-2011, and as the Chief of Staff of Aegean Army Command between the years of 2011-2012.

Promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General by the Supreme Military Council assignments in 2012, Avsever served as the Head of Communications, Electronics and Information Systems Division at the Chief of Staff HQ between the years of 2012-2015, and as the commander of 2nd Corps between the years of 2015-2016.

He was promoted to the rank of General on 29 July 2016 by Supreme Military Council assignments of 2016 and served as the commander of the 1st Army between the years of
2016-2021.

General Musa Avsever was assigned as the commander of the Turkish Land Forces with the presidential decree approved on 05 august 2021.

As of 05 June 2023, General Musa Avsever was assigned as the Chief of Turkish General Staff.

General Avsever is married to Mrs. Mesude Avsever and has two children.
