Mr. Ieuan Davies, Mr. Ray Van Der Schueren and Mr. Angelo Ferrara, who volunteered to deploy to Kandahar in support to the ISAF mission, were awarded the “Non-Article 5” NATO medals and certificates by the Director General of the International Military Staff, Lt. Gen. Jürgen Bornemann, in the presence of all IMS personnel.

In addition to providing the much needed financial support to the ISAF mission, the honored Financial Controllers continued to support the IMS throughout the deployment period, ensuring all tasks were duly completed in a timely and efficient manner.

The “Non-Article 5” NATO medal awarded for personnel participating in NATO operations in Afghanistan was established by the North Atlantic Council in December 2003.
