NATO Secretary General to visit Australia
The NATO Secretary General, Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, will travel to Australia between Tuesday 6 August and Thursday 8 August 2019.
On 7 August, Mr. Stoltenberg will meet Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Foreign Minister Marise Payne, Defence Minister Linda Reynolds and other senior officials in Sydney. The Secretary General will also participate in a signing ceremony for an enhanced partnership plan between NATO and Australia. He will close the day with an event at the Lowy Institute.
On 8 August, Mr. Stoltenberg will have a series of meetings with Australian foreign and defence officials in Canberra. He will also lay a wreath at the Australian War Memorial. The Secretary General’s visit will conclude with an event hosted by the Institute for Regional Security and the Australian National University's Strategic and Defence Studies Centre.
