NATO Secretary General: Croatia is a committed Ally

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg is visiting Croatia on Monday (8 October 2018). Speaking alongside President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, Mr. Stoltenberg praised Croatia’s many contributions to the Alliance. This includes Croatian troops serving in NATO battlegroups in Lithuania and Poland, and in NATO missions in Kosovo and Afghanistan.

The Secretary General  also thanked Croatia for joining NATO’s Operation Sea Guardian for the first time, working with other Allies to keep the Mediterranean secure. 

The Secretary General and President Grabar-Kitarović also discussed the security situation in the Western Balkans.  Mr Stoltenberg said: “NATO remains fully committed to stability and security in this region and I count on Croatia to continue playing a constructive role.

During his visit the Secretary General also had talks with Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.
