North Atlantic Council visits NSPA
NATO Deputy Secretary General Alexander VERSHBOW and the Permanent Representatives to the North Atlantic Council visited NATO’s Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) in Capellen, Luxembourg, on Thursday 10 September 2015.
The visit was an opportunity for the NATO Ambassadors to receive briefings and view vehicle and equipment displays which demonstrate the full range of capabilities that NSPA offers to NATO. The Council also met with senior NSPA staff to discuss how NATO can further exploit the full range of products and services offered by the logistics and acquisition agency.
“The NSPO and the Agency welcomed the opportunity to brief the Council on the wide range of capabilities that are available to support NATO, the Allies and Partners; and focused on the latest initiatives developed since Agencies Reform” highlighted Agency Supervisory Board Chairman, Mr. Muzaffer AKYILDIRIM.
While at NSPA, the Deputy Secretary General and Ambassadors also had a chance to hear from NSPA staff located in and supporting NATO operations to understand how NSPA is supporting the Alliance’s operational requirements. “The Agency provides critical support for coalition forces in Afghanistan, supports the KFOR mission in Kosovo and continues to tailor its operations to meet new challenges. The experience that the NSPA has gained whilst supporting NATO operations will help the agency support better NATO and Allies, including as we implement the Readiness Action Plan” said Ambassador VERSHBOW.
“It was an honour and a pleasure to host the North Atlantic Council today. We were delighted to be able to update NATO’s Ambassadors first-hand on how NSPA can help to achieve their ambitions.” said Mike LYDEN, NSPA General Manager.
