NATO launches 2025 NATO Youth Summit in Montenegro

NATO is pleased to announce the launch of the fifth edition of the NATO Youth Summit, in partnership with the Atlantic Council of Montenegro, in Budva, Montenegro on 25-26 April. In this context, NATO is also launching the Youth Summit challenge, inviting young leaders aged 18-35 from NATO Allies and partner countries to compete for a seat in the audience and the chance to present their ideas on stage at the Youth Summit.
The NATO Youth Summit is a flagship event designed to engage young voices and minds with today’s most pressing security challenges. This year’s discussions will explore a range of pressing global security issues, including NATO’s role in maintaining peace, the impact of emerging technologies, combating information threats, and the youth perspective on NATO’s core values.
The Youth Summit challenge offers participants the opportunity to demonstrate their insights into the security challenges of the future and the critical role of leadership in overcoming them. Selected participants will receive an all-expenses paid seat and may have the opportunity to present their ideas on stage alongside policymakers, security experts, and other young leaders.
To secure an invitation to attend the Youth Summit, applicants must address the question:
“What does a leader of the future look like? What values, skills, and qualities will be essential to navigate an evolving global landscape, and what concrete actions should they take to build a safer world?”
Submissions can take various forms, including video presentations, artistic expressions such as photography, graphic design, poetry, or policy pitches. Creativity and innovation will be key factors considered in the selection process. Winning participants will not only attend the event but may also be invited to present their proposals in front of a live audience.
