The Director General of NATO IMS visits Pakistan for Staff-to-Staff Talks

From 27 to 29 October 2024, the delegation of the NATO International Military Staff (IMS) visited Pakistan for the 11th iteration of NATO-Pakistan Military Staff Talks. During the visit Director General of IMS (DGIMS), Lieutenant General Janusz Adamczak also met with the senior military leaders of this NATO partner country.

NATO building capacity against drug trafficking

The first dog-handling, counter-narcotics training course for ten Central Asian officers started at the Dog Handling Centre of the State Border Guard of Latvia on 27 November 2017 in Rezekne, eastern Latvia. The training is part of a counter-narcotics training project that NATO has been developing with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) since early 2016.

NATO develops multinational fuel handling capability to support operations

On 15 March 2017, France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States signed a Letter of Intent confirming the willingness for collective fuel support to NATO operations and exercises. This was the result of a smart defence initiative on multinational fuel handling capability led by France under the auspices of the NATO Petroleum Committee.

Chairman of the NATO Military Committee visits Pakistan to discuss practical cooperation, regional security and the global fight against terrorism

General Petr Pavel, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee visited Pakistan 4-6 October 2016. During his visit, the Chairman met with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Rashad Mahmood, the Chief of the Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah and National Security Advisor, Lieutenant General (Retired) Nasser Khan Janjua. The General also took the opportunity to meet with Lt Gen Nazir Ahmed Butt, the President of the National Defence University and deliver a speech on the main challenges facing NATO and their likely impact on the future of the Alliance.
