The Director of the NATO Standardization Agency (NSA), Vice Admiral Juan A. Moreno, participated in the 2008 Annual US Department of Defense Standardization Conference held in Washington D.C. on 4-6 March 2008.
The conference is the main national US standardization event, bringing together standardization officials and representatives from the defence industry. The conference covered the main achievements accomplished to date and looked at visions for the future.
Vice Admiral Moreno provided a welcome address in which he discussed NATO standardization issues and the challenges faced by the Alliance in reaching the level of interoperability required by its armed forces and the forces of Partner nations.
The NSA’s participation in the US Department of Defense Standardization Conference is part the agency’s wider efforts to promote standardization to NATO and Partner nations and thereby aid work towards a common understanding of standardization and interoperability.
